DESTINATIONS As we have said before, most Brits go to Florida. Click here to look at some of the lesser known parts of Florida. One word of warning - it gets very hot and humid during July and August. Everything inside is air conditioned, but if you don't like the heat, you will HATE the theme parks at this time of year. We suggest you either head for the Florida coast (a little cooler), or go elsewhere. It also rains most afternoons in the summer months. The showers are usually short, but can be very heavy and accompanied by thunder and lightening. Between 3 and 4 o'clock seems to be the time that nature puts on this show of liquid sunshine! So, what are some other destinations other than Florida? California - a slightly better climate, but long flying time. What about some of the areas on the East coast? Boston, New England, Myrtle Beach, Charleston. If you don't mind flying a bit further, how about Minneapolis? This is the hub of Northwest Airlines, and you can often get good fares. There is a lot to do there, including the largest shopping mall in the US, the Mall of America, complete with it's own indoor theme park, Camp Snoopy! If you do go to the Orlando / Kissimme area, here are some tips.
